Sto. Domingo was built by the Dominican Order under the supervision of the Bishop Domingo De Salazar OP of Intramuros Mania. It has a wooden structure and it was reconstructed again after it collaped in 1589 but this time it was made of concrete. It was relocated in Quezon City after getting a lot of destruction during the World War II. Sto. Domingo Church is one of the tallest churches in the Philippines. The main altar has a mosaic of St.Dominic designed by Jose Zaragoza and Galo Ocampo designed the staind glass windows.
The church is famous Marian image of La Naval and said to be miraculous, it was belived to have helped th Spanish Armada against foreind conquerors. In 1941 the old Sto.Domingo church was bombed and the La Naval was safely hidden for a time inside
the old church.
